Today’s review is a bit close to home because the creator of this product has been a dear friend of ours for years. After the Etsy sex toy ban on July 29, 2024, their shop, Art After Dark Toys, faced some challenges, but they’re still here, making incredible toys and moving to a new home on Shopify.

When they asked us to test one of their creations, we jumped at the chance. They generously provided the         Oskar dildo for this review, but don’t worry—our friendship won’t cloud our judgment. We’ll give you the

same honest, straightforward feedback you’ve come to expect.

Delivery

The Art After Dark Toys Oskar arrived in a plain brown reused shipping box, keeping things discreet while also highlighting After Dark's commitment to eco-friendly practices.

Inside, I was greeted by the main attraction: the custom-colored Oskar. Alongside it was a mini Oskar and a selection of delightful surprise goodies.

Editor's Note: No matter where you order your toys from, it's always a good idea to clean them before use. This ensures that any release agents or other potentially harmful materials are removed. Remember, a clean toy means healthy safe fun!

Measurements

The Art After Dark Oskar is a unique toy that measures seven inches in length, with six inches of insertable fun. It starts with a gentle taper, going from four inches at the tip to a satisfying eight and a half inches at the base, making it a perfect balance of manageable and intense.

What really sets Oskar apart is its texture. The front is covered in soft, flexible barbs

that add an extra layer of sensation, while the body curves in a slight "S" shape for

a natural feel. On the underside, two ridged spines create a deep groove,

giving you a variety of textures to enjoy depending on how you use it. This

blend of softness and structure makes each movement feel both exciting and

                               comfortable.

Materials And Maintenance

ezgif-6-dd4b4b1d5f.gif

All Art After Dark toys are handcrafted using platinum-cured silicone, ensuring they are free from harmful chemicals, non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and irritant-free.

Because After Dark's products are made from one hundred percent silicone, they are entirely waterproof. This ensures versatility, allowing you to enjoy them anywhere, from intimate encounters in the bedroom to indulgent moments in the hot tub.

Maintenance is hassle-free. For thorough cleaning, use a soft-bristled toothbrush with antibacterial soap and warm water. Alternatively, disinfect by boiling the toy for 2-3 minutes, ensuring it doesn't touch the bottom. Always remember to pat your silicone toys dry and utilize water-based lubricants exclusively.

The medium silicone used in the Oskar strikes a perfect balance between softness and firmness, offering just the right amount of flexibility to enhance stimulation. The barbs are soft enough to compress under pressure, adding a pleasing texture without being overly rigid. The ridges provide enough give to accommodate your body comfortably, while the toy’s flexibility allows it to bend and fold back on itself with ease. Despite its softness, the Oskar maintains its shape well, always eager to conform to your movements and provide a satisfying experience.

Color Customization

Check out this custom sandworm-colored Oskar, a fun tribute to the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice release! It’s a perfect example of the custom color options that Art After Dark Toys offers.

While their shop is in the middle of moving from Etsy to Shopify, you might not find all the color details online just yet. But don’t worry— you can still get in touch with them through their X (formerly Twitter) profile. They’re super friendly and will help you pick out or create the perfect color just for you! Art N. Testing and Performance

Insertion   6/10

With its unusual shape, I recommend some stretching before using this toy. The square head made the first insertion a

bit tricky, but after my body adjusted, getting it in and out became much smoother. Oskar’s spikes and ridges added

a lot of varied stimulation, which took some getting used to at the start. It was a bit of an intense introduction, but

once I got comfortable, it turned into a much more enjoyable experience.

Comfort   7/10

The silicone is super soft and flexible, so the spikes and ridges compress easily to fit your body. That being said,

Oskar’s sudden changes in girth can create a few sharp pops when you first start, but it’s not uncomfortable—just intense. It’s more about your body getting used to the unique texture, which honestly made the experience even better. For some, though, those pops might feel a bit overwhelming, especially if you're not used to toys with this kind of bold design.

Depth    10/10

Oskar's size had me a bit nervous at first—I wasn't sure if I could handle the full eight-and-a-half inches on my first try. But honestly, the soft, flexible silicone made all the difference. It wasn’t as intimidating as I expected. The material felt like it was working with my body rather than against it, so what I thought would be a struggle turned into a surprisingly smooth and effortless experience. It just goes to show that even with a toy this big, comfort doesn't have to be sacrificed.

Texture   10/10

Oskar is packed with spikes and ridges all over, offering a unique mix of sensations. The spikes give a

steady, stimulating massage to your inner walls, while the ridges create these satisfying "pops" as you

move the toy. Every curve and bump adds a new level of excitement, making the experience dynamic

and full of surprises. Incorporating slight twists with your body or wrist can unlock even more mind-blowing

stimulation, taking your pleasure to new heights.

External Stimulation    10/10

It’s no surprise that Oskar excels at external stimulation. The array of spikes along one side effectively teases

and massages erogenous zones, delivering pleasure with precision. Thanks to the toy's flexibility, it feels almost

alive, responding dynamically to your movements. The softness of the silicone can sometimes cause the toy to glide away from its intended target, slipping along the perineum and or scrotum instead. Rather than detracting from the experience, these occasional shifts add an unexpected, thrilling layer to the fantasy, enhancing the overall sensation.

Final Thoughts

Wrapping up my time with the Art After Dark Oskar, I’m genuinely impressed. This toy’s unique design and texture deliver a stimulating experience that’s both exciting and intense. The custom sandworm coloring was a delightful touch, adding a fun, thematic element to the play. The mix of soft barbs and ridges, combined with its flexible yet firm build, makes it a standout piece. Whether you're a fan of textured sensations or just looking to try something different, Oskar offers a memorable ride.

The experience of using this toy is something I won’t soon forget. It manages to blend intense stimulation with comfort, creating a play session that’s both engaging and satisfying. Even with its unique and intricate design, Oskar proved to be surprisingly easy to handle. If you’re into fantasy-themed toys and crave something that delivers both in looks and performance, the Art After Dark Oskar is definitely worth a try.

That all being said the Art After Dark Toys Oskar scored 43/50 giving it a rating of 8/10, and I highly recommend it for those looking to master the Dark Arts
